The Class Foundation is thrilled to announce the appointment of Sam Bailey-Watts as Programme Director, further strengthening the organisation's commitment to shaping the future of the PBSA sector.

Sam brings a wealth of expertise to his role, having collaborated with The Class Foundation and its team in various capacities over the years. His background with the Class includes serving as a Board Advisor and moderator/facilitator at numerous events, demonstrating his deep engagement and understanding of the industry.

With a career spanning the UK Higher Education sector and board-level positions with prominent universities and PBSA providers, Sam brings a unique perspective and meaningful insights to his new position. He is passionate about addressing the strategic and operational challenges facing the sector and is committed to delivering real value to the PBSA community.

Reflecting on his decision to join The Class Foundation, Sam expressed his enthusiasm for the opportunity to contribute to the organisation's mission. "I am delighted to be joining The Class Foundation. Having worked with Kelly-anne Watson and her team before, I am excited to play a more integral role in shaping the next stage of The Class's progress."

Speaking about his affinity for the sector, Sam emphasised the transformative role of student accommodation in shaping early adult life and fostering lifelong experiences and relationships. "Student accommodation isn't just about offering a place to live," he remarked. "It plays a crucial role in equipping students with the resilience and skills they need to become valued citizens."

In his new role as Programme Director, Sam's primary goals include collaborating with The Class Foundation community to address pressing challenges such as the demand-supply disparity in partner countries and cities, ensuring affordability and wellbeing in student accommodation, and advocating for policy changes to drive favorable outcomes.

"I am eager to work alongside Frank Uffen (Co-Founder) and Kelly-anne Watson (Managing Director), and the wider team to advance our collective goals and make a meaningful impact on the PBSA sector," Sam concluded.

Sam continues to work in the Higher Education sector as an independent consultant and Verifier for Unipol Student Homes, a UK based unique student housing charity that runs a number of accreditation schemes and train and promote best practice in student housing.

The Class Foundation welcomes Sam Bailey-Watts to the team and looks forward to leveraging his expertise to drive innovation and excellence in the PBSA landscape.
