Events, Partnerships & Customer Service Intern

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Events, Partnerships & Customer Service Intern to support our operations. Our team is currently working remotely, but we would like you to be in the Netherlands as we still have weekly face-to-face meetings.

The Basics

  • Job title: Research Intern
  • Hours per week: 24-40 hrs
  • Compensation: 500 euros monthly if working 40 hrs per week
  • Location: The Netherlands, meetings are in Amsterdam
  • Contract: 6 months or more
  • Start date: January / February 2022

The Class Foundation

As higher education is becoming increasingly global, the way in which universities, cities and countries attract and retain talent is evolving. Our foundation connects the communities of student housing, higher education, and city development. We do this by developing and spreading knowledge through research projects, publications and organised events.  

We have a six-person team including Frank Uffen our Co-Founder, Kelly-anne Watson our Director of Operations, Mellissa Goff our Partnership & Development Manager, Omar Ali our Head of Marketing & Communication, Arunima Dey, Programme Curator, and Nidhi, Research and Content Intern.
You will be managed by Mellissa but support the whole team with different tasks.

What will you be doing?

Ideally, you’re someone who has strong interpersonal skills, is incredibly organised and is passionate about building communities across cities, Higher education and real estate. Your main task is customer service based and will include but not limited to:  

  • Pro-actively dealing with inquiries from partners
  • Supporting event operations and logistics such as; ticketing, guest lists, venues, F&B and furniture
  • Coordinating and supporting In-person and virtual event  
  • Organising internal calendars and agendas
  • Supporting the Marketing and Partnership teams with data analytics and insight to leverage our fundraising and comms initiatives  

Candidate profile

We believe the below traits are useful to have for this position, though we do realise you may not tick all the boxes. For us the most important is that you are enthusiastic about our organisation, the sector, and you have good people skills and are super organised.

  • Mandatory: currently enrolled in a European university (either BA or MA)
  • Mandatory: fluent in English, both spoken and written. Knowledge of another European language would be an advantage.

Note: We are working remotely, but regularly meet via video call and in Amsterdam for our in-person bi-weekly meeting.
